At some point in life, as they get older, the vast majority of people
stop doing handstands, as they do with anything else deemed to be "childish".
There must be something about growing up that makes us more self-conscious
about such things.
Is it not so much fun anymore? I doubt that is the case. If it was fun
as a child, why would it not be fun as an adult? And as an adult who is
there to tell one not to do it? It seems to me that society has an unwritten
rule for such behaviour, about there being a time and place for it. Any
deviation from this is seen as weird.
But why is this the case? A side effect of becoming a stable and productive
hard-working member of society I suppose, where having fun means you are
not contributing to the wider system and paying for the lifestyles of
the priviledged few.
