Landscaped with concrete paving, quite typical of UK town centres. Curved
steps offer some fluidity against the structural rigidity of countless
rectangular blocks. To similar effect the ground is patterned by different
types of paving to help break the monotony of 'grey'. Benches are placed
to encourage people to sit and relax while watching the world go by. A
few trees are allowed to grow, but only in their neatly defined holes.
Unsurprisingly, the pigeons of the area instinctively congregate around
them... their only link to nature, islands of refuge in a concrete sea.
